New sawing method for tubes and solid bar up to 170 mm diameter

  • Fast: Cutting time reduced by up to 90 % compared to band saws
  • High performance: High rated torque of up to 1,500 Nm at any cutting speed
  • Easy: Automatic adjustment to memorised cutting speed
  • Precise: Expansion of the cutting clearance after sawing
  • Efficient: Lifelong, backlash free, preclamped forward feed of the saw

Usually slow band saws are used for the cutting of tubes and solid bars of diameters over 100 mm. Therefore, this segment of the pre-production still offers a lot of rationalisation potential.

This was the starting point for the new RSA development high performance circular saw RASACUT XXL. The high performance saw drive with a rated torque of up to 1,500 Nm, stays almost consistent at any cutting speed, facilitates high yields even for extreme sawing tasks. Two examples: Round tube 135 x 4 mm, St 37, cutting time 5.5 seconds. Solid bar 80 mm diameter, CK45, cutting time 3.0 seconds.

In addition to the significantly reduced cutting times it has even now become possible to increase the level of automation of ensuing processing steps. Working processes, e.g. the deburring of cut edges can be directly interlinked to the saw. Up to now those additional processes made no sense with band saws due to low yields.

The wide workpiece spectrum of the saw, ranging from diameters of 20 mm up to 170 mm, for tubes and solid bars as well as the large power reserves result in an optimum utilization of the RASACUT XXL.
