Cup brushes are aggressive tools for usage for heavy duty cleaning, for example derusting, removing paint, dirt or scales and for working large areas. Due to the straight cup the entire equipped surface has contact to the work piece when it it is used on the front end.  

At working diameters of 80 mm and larger cup brushes are also available with stabilising ring. It stabilises the brush and is simply removed when the free wire part is worn off. Then a further 20 mm of wire is available Beyond that, the supporting ring prevents lateral shifting of the material.
